I really enjoyed this story. I found myself identifying with some things and shaking my head at others. I was annoyed at Tierra's naivete but was proud of Tierra for standing in her beliefs regarding pre-marital sex but disappointed when she almost gave in to appease Twon. Twon started to annoy me as the story went on with his unwillingness to respect Tierra's feelings about having sex. I think Tierra and Twon should have discussed relationship expectations early on so that they'd both know where each other stood when it comes to the subject of sex. A message I felt was important from this story is that sex won't land you a man or get one to stay for that matter either. Shaneece felt she had the upper hand because she was willing to give it up and Tierra wasn't, however she was in for a rude awakening when things did not go in her favor. When it came to Shaneece's storyline, I could definitely feel where she was coming from when it came to her overbearing parents. Growing up as an only child, although my experiences were not as extreme as hers in regard to how her parents treated her, it was similar in the sense that I was restricted from a lot as a teenager. I, like Shaneece and her sister, secretly rebelled and snuck off and did things I should not have. I empathize with Shaneece because although I believe her parents meant well, they like most strict parents, don't realize they're doing more harm than good. To wrap up my review, I must say that I'm hanging on to the edge of my seat in anticipation to read the next book in the series. Can't wait to find out what happens next. Keep the stories coming :)
